Christmas time is here. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and the anticipation of the holiday is at it’s peak. I cannot believe how quickly this season goes by. As we begin to close out my favorite season of the year, I wanted to compile a full home tour. This way, you can see it all together and also see some additional decor I’ve added but haven’t shared yet. To be honest, I am already dreaming of next year’s Christmas decor and how it will look with some of the changes I hope to make to the house next year. We had big hopes for this year, but with it being 2020, those changes didn’t happen. Here’s to hoping for beautiful transformations in 2021! For now though, here is our 2020 home for the holidays.

Naturally, let’s start in the entryway. I wrote more about it in this blog post here. I wanted to share more of the entryway closer to the front door, but we currently have a hole in the ceiling from changing out “interesting” light fixtures, and we have a real cedar garland around the doorway that dried up about 5 minutes after I hung it (despite following all the guidelines I could possibly research online). So let’s save that for next year. I doubt anyone wants to look at a dead garland next to a hole in the ceiling ha!

Across from the entryway is the living room. The star of this room this year is the tree. The living room tree is always where I love to use my imagination the most. I wanted to have something a little more “old-fashioned” this year and by adding those draping pearls all around it, I think I was able to accomplish that. After publishing that post, I received so many messages from readers about how the style reminded them of old Christmas memories and the nostalgic films they enjoy every year. I love that. Christmas time is so special, and the memories are so important. Hearing that my tree brought back great memories for some of you made my heart so happy.

In the other corner of the living room is an antique hutch I found two years ago. The story behind it is quite amusing, but I’ll save that for a later time. To decorate it this year, I hung my favorite wreath from the top and hung a santa sack that my mom gave to me on the side. I also placed some silhouettes that I made of us two from our wedding day. I’ll need to share more on that later as well. This corner is so cozy and nostalgic, and I love it so much.

Next on our tour is the dining room. The memories made around a dining room table at Christmas are priceless. Sharing our Christmas dinner with family and playing our favorite games afterward will always be memorable. As kids, we couldn’t wait to sit down to our feast and play games at the table all evening into the early hours of the morning. We are so thankful we were able to find a house with a great dining space. It’s a gift that we get to continue the traditions we had growing up around our own table now.

To decorate this room, I hung a faux garland around our chandelier and placed my small collection of Christmas village houses along the table. I share more about those here. Having the glow of the living room and family room trees makes it extra magical. I just love the glow of lights. And after these pictures were taken, I decided to add a few more. I added some of the battery powered lights into my hutch, and I love that extra glow they bring.

After the dining room is our breakfast nook. I kept that room rather simple this year and you can read more about it here. Just a few small Christmas elements was all this small space needed. The rest of the house is so full of Christmas that simple seemed best in here.

Our family room is the room we spend the absolute most amount of time. This was my latest share here on the blog. I love this room the most. It’s small, cozy, and where we love to curl up with a fire and hot chocolate to watch our favorite Christmas films.

And last but not least, our bedroom. You may have wondered looking at these trees if we hang up sentimental ornaments at all for Christmas. The answer is: we do. We save our sentimental ornaments for our room. This tree is our most nostalgic tree. It’s an older style tree that we picked up years ago from Bronner’s for $50. It isn’t the most realistic tree, it isn’t the most beautiful tree, and it isn’t the most Pinterest worthy tree… and yet, it means the most. In our age of feeling like we have to have Instagram worthy trees, I feel like a lot of the most special parts of Christmas are being lost. We are trying so hard to create bigger and better that we forget that sometimes simple and memory-filled decorations will always be the most valuable.

I love that we get to see those keepsake ornaments every day in here. They are my favorite to pull out every year and they bring back so many great memories. I will always have to have a tree with our childhood memories and new memories on it. One of my absolute favorite ornaments is this one here. It is the ornament Ryan used to propose to me. He knew even 7 years ago how deep my love of Christmas really is. On the back is the actual marriage proposal. I will always cherish that ornament the most.

Our room is one of the rooms I want to tackle the most in the new year. Trim work, new paint, maybe flooring… I’m not sure what 2021 will have in store for this very unfinished room, but I can’t wait to get started making it exactly what we want.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tour our home for the holidays. It means so much that you are here. I am so thankful for the gift of my readers. You all have been so incredibly supportive of this new venture of mine, and I truly am so grateful for you this season. May you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas! And remember, decorations are a wonderful aspect of Christmas, but Jesus will always be the true reason for the season. It is the gift of God’s love to us that will always be the most important gift of all. Merry Christmas from the Hatfields!
