If you are anything like me, you love taking trips to the cider mill this time of year. Apple picking, pumpkin picking, and of course donuts and cider. This year, however, is looking a little different. With orchards limiting the number of guests and lots of extra safety requirements, this year’s trips to the cider mill might not feel quite as magical as they normally do. So, I had an idea. Why not bring the cider mill into your own backyard! We had recently made a trip to one of our local orchards, Blake’s, during a slow weekday morning and grabbed some cider and cinnamon sugar donuts. The rest of my table I put together with items we already had at home.

I started with a wool blanket I found while antiquing last year. It had the perfect fall color palette and worked superbly to cover up my old, falling apart picnic table. Seeing as I don’t have a nice outdoor patio table, this would simply have to do, and that’s ok! Thank goodness there are ways to cover the gaping hole in the middle haha.

I then added lots of pops of orange. While I love my neutrals, I also have a love for those vibrant fall colors. So I grabbed some orange pumpkins I had already picked up for a few bucks at the grocery store and added some faux stems in an antique crock. If you don’t have any faux stems and you have lots of color on your own trees, you could simply cut a few small branches to add for your foliage. It just adds so much to the display and overall feel.

I layered in some wooden cutting boards to add some extra warmth and height throughout the table, and, naturally, I made sure to add lots of copper accents to serve my beverages in. And last of all, I lit a pumpkin scented candle just to further that cozy fall feel. Adding some simple fall textures, colors, and scents makes for a perfect little get together with close friends and family during this, shall we say, unusual fall. Maybe add some hanging lights around your patio or deck, extra blankets, and a bonfire and you can also have a perfect fall evening to spend with loved ones without all the fuss of going out to crowded areas or waiting in long lines.

I hope this helps to inspire you and some different ways to celebrate the beauty of the season right from your own backyard. I’d love to know some of the different ways you are adapting your fall bucket list this season too! Thank you for stopping by!
