I don’t know about you, but I am loving these warmer temperatures we have been having lately. While I am not keen on summer, I am certainly looking forward to spring. I love the warmer breeze, the pops of green that start to fill our landscapes, and the flowers as they begin to bloom. There is just something about spring that beckons us to start afresh. I love to enjoy that calming presence not only in the beauty of the outdoors but also by bringing it into my home. There is something so soothing about adding florals (real or faux) to our spaces every spring. They lift the spirits and bring a sense of calm to my home. That is what this super simple centerpiece achieves in our dining room.
For this centerpiece I wanted to implement something very simple and airy. Sometimes people feel the need to go elaborate on their dining tables, but when it comes to my dining room, I think simple is best. Especially for everyday use. I don’t want my table to feel “overwhelming”, but rather like a breath of fresh air. So to create that here, I took a basket and filled it with lovely faux florals. This basket was a Christmas gift, but I believe it was from Home Goods, and the flowers are the “cream berry leaf sprays” from Hobby Lobby. They have always been my favorite place to purchase faux flowers for the money. They look fairly realistic and are easy on the budget (especially when they are 50% off).
Putting florals in baskets is one of my favorite ways to add that cottage charm into my home. It’s simple, easy, and adds so much character to any space. I love the look and feel of European cottages, and this basket/floral combination adds that feel beautifully. It’s subtle and still makes a statement. Can you see that wood beam we have added in the transition to the family room? I’ll blog more about that later, but that has added a lot of that charm as well. Seeing this centerpiece against that wood beam enhances that cozy tone in our home, and we love it so much.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick little post and that you leave feeling inspired in your spring decor. You don’t have to add a lot to make your home feel more ready for spring. Have a basket and some flowers? Throw them together and see what you get! It’s my favorite way to add that cozy, spring freshness to any area of my home. Thank you for checking out the blog today! It always means the world to me.
